Just after the 2021 edition of the National Science and Maths quiz ended, one person who became a household name was no other than Ketasco’s female contestant, Francisca Lamini.
A total of $20,000 in financial aid and scholarships has been given to her since then. She was even able to go on a trip to Dubai with her buddies.
During a recent interview, the academic queek has explained her motivation and how she pushed herself so hard to achieve her goals.
The 18-year-old brilliant girl stated that she harbored the dream of growing to become a medical doctor and that inspired her to study hard through basic school and also to choose general science as a course in high school.
According to Francisca Lamini, being shortlisted by her school as part of their NSMQ team “motivated her colleague girls to do their best.” She trashed a longstanding cliché by saying “Science Courses Are Not Meant For Men Alone, girls can also do them”
