Adomaa is one individual who has experienced her fair share of ups and downs on the difficult road to fame. The Ghanaian singer and actress revealed in a recent interview with Yaa Somuah that she struggled with imposter syndrome and found it difficult to handle celebrity at the beginning of her career.
She stated
” I don’t think it is normal for any human being to live their lives where everybody is a part of every single thing that they are doing. The celebrity kingdom is not normal, I feel like everybody has vulnerable moments, has everyday lives and there are certain things you want to keep for yourself, there are certain things you allow yourself to be open to family, there is a version of yourself that you allow to be open to friends, there is layers to it but when you are in this spotlight you have no privacy and it is not normal’’
Adomaa has made progress in terms of self-love and self-assurance. Yaa Somuah questioned her about her fears over comparisons between those with dark skin and those with light skin during the interview.
The singer admitted that despite growing up in a safe atmosphere, she began to have insecurities when she enrolled in boarding school in Nigeria.
Adomaa admitted that she frequently overheard comments such, “Well you are so dark, oh my God, does the sun in Ghana burn people.”
