Mia Maro cause of death has been determined after she was reported dead and found at her home unresponsive at 5 pm on May 1, 2022.
Mia was a senior at Andrew High School, and she was just 17 years old.

According to Tinley Park police, Mia Maro, a senior at Andrew High School, was discovered dead in the basement level of a home in the 7800 block of West 167th Street on Sunday night.
According to the Cook County medical examiner, an autopsy done Monday found the 17-year-old had many injuries and her death was deemed a homicide.
Andrew Brecia, a neighbor, said he noticed and heard noises emanating from Maro’s older brother, which alerted him to the fact that something was wrong.”
Abir Othman, principal at Andrew High School, expressed her sympathies to Maro’s family in a message sent to the school community on Monday.
“Today is a very sad day for the Andrew High School Community as we mourn the death of senior student Mia Maro,” stated Othman. “We send our heartfelt sympathies to Mia’s family and ask that everyone remember Mia in their prayers.”
