BLACK SUNDAY – Reactions As Terrorists Attacked and K!lled Church Goers In Nigeria
Rotimi Akeredolu, Governor of Ondo State, has reacted to the heinous murder of churchgoers in Ondo State by armed individuals suspected of being terrorists.
On his official Twitter account, the Ondo State Governor expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased, stating that it was a Black Sunday in Owo, the location of the unfortunate occurrence.
According to Sahara Reporters, churchgoers, including men, women, and children, were massacred by armed men while attending mass at St. Francis Church in Owo, Ondo State, on Sunday morning. As of the time of writing, the complete number of deceased has not been known.
The statement partly read, “This is an unexpected development. I am shocked, to say the least. Nevertheless, we shall commit every available resource to hunt down these assailants and make them pay. “We shall never bow to the machinations of heartless elements in our resolve to rid our state of criminals. “
Nigerians reacted to Akeredolu’s statement with one person writing that ” While you were galivanting chasing political clout, you forgot about the security of Ondo state.
A chief security officer of a state said that the attack was unexpected. What do you people even discuss in your security council meeting? “
