This Is What Yvonne Nelson Said About President Akufo Addo in Her Book
Yvonne Nelson, a famous movie personality, has written a book called “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson” where she criticizes the presidency of Nana Akufo-Addo.
She believes that his government is corrupt and spends money recklessly. The book was launched on June 18, 2023, and has been making headlines ever since.
In 2015, Yvonne Nelson and her friends organized a big demonstration against the John Mahama administration because of unstable power or “dumsor.”
The demonstration was very successful and helped Akufo-Addo win the 2016 election. However, Yvonne received anonymous threats from people who thought she was making the government unpopular.
“I received anonymous death threats from people who felt I was making the [Mahama] government unpopular,” she wrote in her book.
After Akufo-Addo won the election, Yvonne and her friends went to congratulate him and took a photo of him.
She also revealed that she was asked to run for the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election on the NPP ticket in 2020. A big man in the NPP wanted her to run instead of Lydia Alhassan, the current MP.
Yvonne believes that Akufo-Addo came into the presidency with a lot of goodwill but has not lived up to expectations. She thinks that his government is corrupt and spends money recklessly.
