Cooper Douglas Kupp is an American football wide receiver for the National Football League’s Los Angeles Rams (NFL). He attended Eastern Washington University, where he won the Walter Payton Award as a junior, and was drafted by the Rams in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. In 2021, Kupp became the fourth player since the AFL-NFL merger to lead the league in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. He was named Offensive Player of the Year and the Super Bowl LVI MVP.
Cooper Kupp, 28, was born on June 15, 1993, in Yakima, Washington. He never left his hometown; his athletic career developed in town, as did his college football career.
Kupp’s contract is worth $47 million; he signed a three-year extension with the Rams that included a $6 million signing bonus and a $35 million guarantee. Kupp will be a free agent in two years, in 2024, unless the Rams decide to extend his contract.
Kupp is the son of former NFL quarterback Craig Kupp, who was drafted in the fifth round by the New York Giants out of Pacific Lutheran University in 1990 and went on to play for the Phoenix Cardinals and the Dallas Cowboys in 1991. His younger brother, Ketner Kupp, also played at Eastern Washington and was signed as a free agent by the Los Angeles Rams in 2019, where he participated in training camp and preseason games before being released during the final roster cutdown.
