52-year-old Ghanaian woman cries out as her family demands $3000 as her brideprice from her lover – Video

A Ghanaian lady couldn’t hide her displeasure at her family’s demand for a staggering $3000 bride price from her abroad-based lover who plans to marry her.

According to the 52-year-old woman, her lover’s desire to marry her is a favor because she is nearly an old lady, and the man might have chosen a younger and more attractive lady.

She was so furious that she resorted to social media to vent, wondering whether her family members were glad for her to stay a spinster, hence their decision to scare away her suitor with an expensive bride price.

She expressed how her admirer was equally dissatisfied with the $3,000 bride price and has determined not to pay until her family reduces the amount.

Many Ghanaians have reacted to her diatribe, with some agreeing with her concerns, claiming that charging the man so much to allow him to marry her was similar to selling her off.

Some have even advised her to disobey her family and go to court for a simple and low-cost civil marriage.

A court wedding is a legal marriage ceremony in Ghana and around the world.

It ensures that your union is legally recognized and supported, giving you the same rights and benefits as traditional married couples.

Recently, several Ghanaian couples have used that option to escape the high costs associated with other types of marriages.
