President Nana Akufo-Addo has been blamed for the country’s current economic troubles, according to notorious Ghanaian preacher Prophet Kofi Oduro.
At a church service on September 3, the founder of Alabaster International Ministries declared that President Akufo-Addo would go down in history as the worst leader of the Fourth Republic.
Prophet Kofi Oduro expressed his concerns, noting that Ghana has faced challenges since President Akufo-Addo took office on January 7, 2017. He made it apparent that only divine intervention would be required to handle the nation’s economic issues, and that the President would be unable to do so on his own.
“I’d like to inform my president that your expertise will not be able to solve this problem.” From now until December 7, Your Excellency, you will be remembered as the Fourth Republic’s worst president. It’s been six and a half years of agony and pain, six and a half years of bloodshed. “We need help,” he stated emphatically.
Ghana has been in the grip of a severe economic crisis since 2022, which the government has blamed on the COVID-19 outbreak and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Because of the circumstances, the year-over-year inflation rate in January 2023 reached a new high of 54.1%, with food inflation hitting 59.7% and transportation prices reaching 71.4%. The government began a domestic debt swap program as part of the $3 billion IMF bailout program it enacted to address the crisis.
