“Even Micheal Jackson cannot compare himself to Kofi Kinaata”- Mr. Beautiful praises the great songwriter
Mr. Beautiful, a movie icon, has controversially stated that Kofi Kinaata, a Highlife artiste, has done what the late Michael Jackson could not do as a musician.
Mr. Beautiful, born Clement Bonney, revealed in an interview on Cape Coast’s Kastle FM that Kofi Kinaata winning VGMA Songwriter of the Year awards four times is a world record.
“Kofi Kinaata, who sings in Fante, has done some compositions that have never happened in this world,” he said.
“It has never happened that a single artist has won songwriter of the year on four different occasions,” he said in an interview with Amansan Krakye.
“Where in this world did an individual achieve that even Michael Jackson couldn’t achieve such a great record?” he boasted.
Kofi Kinaata is the only artist to have four times won the coveted Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) Songwriter of the Year award, and his lyrics have recently been authorized for literature students at KNUST.
