It was a sight to witness as one of the sons of the National Democratic Congress’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, exchanged pleasantries with his father’s political rival, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Sharaf Mahama donned a white short-sleeve kaftan and was photographed shaking hands with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who was decorated in a two-piece suit with a flying tie, at Eugene and Davina’s wedding, which has gone viral on social media, particularly on TikTok.
Dr. Bawumia, beaming with joy, chatted with Sharaf Mahama while other stunned wedding guests looked on.
Samira Bawumia, the wife of the Vice President, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Minister for Communications and Digitalization, and Freda Osei-Opare, the Chief of Staff, were among those who attended Eugene and Davina’s wedding.
Meanwhile, Sharaf Mahama, John Dramani Mahama’s third son, is a professional footballer who travels with his father to political engagements.
In 2015, he drew the attention of Ghana’s sports media when he appeared in a testimonial match for former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The 24-year-old striker, born on September 21, 1998, began his professional football career in 2017 with Belgium’s Tempo Overijse.
He has previously played for the youth teams of KV Mechelen and Royal Charleroi SC in Belgium.
Sharaf Mahama is presently a free agent after Rostocker Football Club released him in July 2021.
