Rebecca Aboagyewaa, a mother of eight, had been married to her husband for nearly ten years when he abandoned them to marry a wealthy woman because his wife did not have enough money to care for him.

According to the woman, because she was not bright in school, she dropped out at a young age. She went into business when she was older, selling plantains and other foodstuffs. Rebecca met her husband in Accra years later.

After the first year of their marriage, they were blessed with their first twins, a girl, and a boy. She became pregnant once more, and this time she gave birth to twins. Ten years later, Rebecca’s husband began mistreating her; he used to beat her constantly.

This situation caused the woman to be terrified whenever she saw her husband. The man later told Rebecca that she doesn’t have the money to care for him, but he has found a wealthy woman who will provide him with everything he requires.

He abandoned her and the children to marry a wealthy woman, and they never heard from him again. Making ends meet was a problem for the woman; she couldn’t provide for their basic needs; it was the woman’s father who took care of her and the children; she even became ill along the way and was hospitalized for six months.

Fortunately, she met another man who looked after her, and she decided to marry him because he treated her children as if they were his own.

She gave birth to another set of twins for the fourth time, bringing her total number of children to eight. The doctors warned her that if she became pregnant again, she would give birth to twins.
