Upcoming actor fined and disgraced in Tamale for sleeping with a married woman
The palace of Tamale Dakpema, in cooperation with the Northern Drama and Film Makers Association (NODRAFIM), has barred a popular actor, Aborimaham Bashiru, from acting for three (3) years for sleeping with a colleague married woman.
This came after the actor was fined 5,000 GHC, a ram, and three (3) fowls for sleeping with a married woman. The band was proclaimed in the palace by Dakpem Dema-Naa chief Adam Musah on Saturday.
According to the Dema-Naa, NODRAFIM, the professional body to which Aborimaham belongs, took the situation very seriously and imposed a band actor suspension for three (3) years.
According to multiple media accounts, a squad of military men had to carry beleaguered Aborimaham away after he was nearly beaten up by an irate mob that had surrounded the palace.
While some asked that he be caned by the palace for his actions, others preferred that he be shaved. When they didn’t receive what they wanted, they demanded his release so he could be beaten ‘very well’.
Natogma Yakubu, the husband of the unfaithful wife, asked his wife be publicly caned, saying he was dissatisfied with the palace decision.
Responding to him, Dakpem Saha-Naa, Mr. Laminu Awal stated that the palace found it difficult to fulfill the husband’s desire due to the couple’s two (2) children, underlining that the stigma of the entire situation would impact the children.
