Maame Yaa, a 28 years old cripple, lives with a caretaker in the Central region village of Saakye. According to a village elder, Maame Yaa was sick as a child. She did, however, receive the incorrect injection, which resulted in her current condition.
The community’s cheif, Nana Kweku Asare, told DJ Nyaami on SVTV Africa that she had been ignored for years. she has also been unable to attend school because of her condition.
“She is alone because her mother is away and her father has died.” On occasion, she receives food from a lady here. He mentioned that she had two more siblings who come to see her only once in a while.
He went on to say that Maame Yaa’s condition has made her a local laughingstock, with some even calling her a witch. She has the appearance and demeanor of a child, despite her age.
Maame Yaa is currently unable to move without the assistance of a wheelchair.
