The family of Ron Paap has not yet disclosed the cause of his death. Ron Paap was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lila Mae Paap, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur and Freda Paap, as well as his parents, Laurence and Verena Paap.

Surviving Ron Paap are his sons: Larry R. Paap (Penny Thompson) of Mattoon, IL; Terry L. Paap (Cathy) of Charleston, IL; Marc S. Paap (Martha) of Easley, SC; and Tim C. Paap of Charleston, IL. Additionally, he is survived by 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Who was Ron Paap?

Born on July 10, 1934, in Otoe, NE, Ron Paap was the son of Laurence Arthur and Verena Wilhelmina Paap (née Hillman).

In 1952, he graduated from Otoe High School before furthering his education at Peru State in Peru, NE, where he graduated in 1955.

Ron earned his master’s degree in 1961 from Colorado State College in Fort Collins, CO. On August 8, 1954, he married the love of his life, Lila Mae Windle, in Dawson, NE.

Ron Paap’s life was characterized by a deep commitment to his family, faith, and community. He shared 63 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Lila Mae, who preceded him in death on December 6, 2017.

Ron’s legacy extends to his surviving sons, Larry R. Paap, Terry L. Paap, Marc S. Paap, and Tim C. Paap, along with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ron Paap’s influence reached far beyond his professional achievements. A man of faith, he was an active member of the Apostolic Center Church in Mattoon, IL. His interests spanned reading, golfing, yard work, and cherished moments with family.

Ron Paap Funeral

A Private Memorial Service to celebrate Ron Paap’s life will be held at a later date, officiated by Associate Pastor Duane Pope.

The final resting place will be Mound Cemetery in Charleston, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Apostolic Center Church, symbolizing Ron’s enduring connection to his faith community.
