Theophilus Tagoe—and his then-girlfriend Janet Bandu vanished from the Ada Resort.
When the boat they were aboard for jet skiing on the Ada River capsized in high surf, Janet fell off and into the water, and Castro joined her as he attempted to save her from drowning at the Aqua Safari resort in Ada.
He was with his best friend Asamoah Gyan on that terrible day. The two people’s bodies have yet to be located. According to Ghanaian law, if a person hasn’t been found for seven years, they are deemed legally dead. The two were declared dead last year.
Ghanaians can’t help but admire how long the Castro and Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie’s friendship has lasted after discovering a rare photo of them online. Before Castro vanished, the two worked together to produce the popular song “Adonai.”
