Popular Kumawood Actress Kyeiwaa Shares The Challenges She Faced Abroad After 10 Years
Kyeiwaa, a popular Kumawood actress also known as Rose Akua Ataa Mensah, is making a comeback to Ghana after being away for ten years.
She left in search of better opportunities abroad but is now returning home to work on potential projects.
In an interview on her YouTube channel, she shared the challenges she faced while living overseas and encouraged industry stakeholders to work together to restore the movie industry’s former glory.
She hopes to bring her experience and skills back to Ghana and contribute to the industry’s growth.
“It is difficult to get white-collar jobs in the States; hence, menial jobs are easy to come by. There is no shame in working in a restaurant and washing dishes, as I did. I was fortunate to get help from a woman who asked me to come work at her restaurant, and I’m grateful for her,” she said.
If any producer wants her services, Kyeiwaa is willing to take on any movie role, despite the challenges she faced abroad.
Unfortunately, her first marriage with Daniel Osei in 2015 was unsuccessful due to Osei’s existing marriage and children with another woman. She ended the marriage after just four days of discovering the truth.
However, Kyeiwaa found love again in 2020 and got married to Mr. Michael Kissi Asare in a private traditional ceremony with close family and friends.
Her return to the Ghanaian movie industry is a positive development, as it has been experiencing a decline in recent years.
