“People who defend NPP now can defend satan in Heaven”- General Mosquito
Due to the severe collapse of the Ghanaian economy brought on by COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war, the Akufo Addo-led administration made the decision to turn to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a bailout.
After hearing what this government plans to do, many individuals voiced their opinions, despite criticizing the previous government for turning to the IMF for a bailout.
However, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, also known as General Mosquito, the general secretary of the NDC, claimed on Okay FM’s “Ade Akye Abia” show that anyone who can justify the NPP’s current decisions can do the same for Satan in paradise.
He stated:
Ghana got significant assistance from the World Bank and other kind organizations during the COVID-19 epidemic. Therefore, I find it ludicrous to hear people claim that COVID-19 and the Ukraine-Russia war are to blame for the country’s weak economic performance.
“Anyone who can support NPP’s choice to approach the IMF for a bailout with this puzzling argument can defend Satan in Heaven.”
“The Finance Minister has run out of ideas, and based on the way he is doing things right now, you will need a fresh perspective to oversee the nation’s finances and be able to revive the economy.”
