In a recent interview with Kafui Dey on the Breakfast Show, Gifty Anti opened up about her saddest moment at GBC and how she turned it into a driving force for success.
Gifty Anti recalled her first working experience at GBC after completing her National Service. To her surprise, the opportunity to be on set was not planned, leaving her unprepared and wearing an outfit that was far from appropriate. “I remember I was wearing a very short skirt and my father’s shirt,” she recounted with a hint of amusement in her voice.
However, the true blow came when she discovered that a magazine called Radio and Television had described her as “beautiful enough but not intelligent enough for the set.” This hurtful remark came just a week after she had been asked to host the newspaper review segment on GTV by one of the presenters. Despite the excitement of the opportunity, Gifty Anti’s nerves got the best of her, and she found herself shivering throughout the entire segment. In an attempt to hide her insecurity, she buried her head in the newspaper, hoping to disguise her trembling.
But Gifty Anti didn’t let this setback define her. She took the criticism and turned it into motivation. “The best form of revenge is to succeed,” she reminded herself. With a renewed determination, she cleaned herself up and made the best of every opportunity that came her way.
