Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, a prominent Ghanaian musician, and media personality, also known as Mzbel, has revealed that she is in a state of bewilderment following the loss of her father in January of this year.
Mzbel has remarked that she is overwhelmed by the responsibilities she must bear while grieving.
She made her submission during an interview with Graphic Showbiz.
“I am puzzled,” she says. “I haven’t encountered anything like this since when my mother died, I was 18 years old, so I had no obligation.” But with this, everyone is saying something, we’re conducting meetings here and there, and all that.”
Mzbel alleges that her 75-year-old father told them not to arrange a funeral for him before he died, and she plans to respect that request.
“Aside from that, my dad died nicely,” she stated. We won’t hold a funeral for him since he was a Muslim. “Before he died, he told us not to hold a funeral for him, so we are following through on that.”
Mzbel had claimed that she will plan two “grand” funerals for her father. She was caught between listening to her father’s final words and holding the large funeral because she was pushed to reconsider her decision because the father was buried according to Muslim practice, as he had wanted.
She paid her respects to the National Chief Imam after the burial, but the details of her meeting were kept hidden.
Mzbel revealed in the interview that they are in talks with the National Chief Imam about leading prayers for her father in March.
“We will simply hold prayers for him on March 5 at my place in Mallam Gbawe,” she stated. We are in talks with the National Chief Imam about having him come and lead the prayers.”
