Larry Modowo of CNN interviewed Blacko for a profile on the African Voices show.
The feature examined the rise of the ‘Kwaku the Traveler hitmaker from the Konongo Zongo slums to an internationally acknowledged global music icon!
As usual, Black Sherif handled the interview and questions with a calm, cool, calculating, and articulate demeanor.
When asked if he ever anticipated himself making it this big on the world stage during his early years in Konongo, the Ghanaian responded, Not even in his wildest dreams.
According to him, there was a period when he was making music in Konongo and no one in Accra knew who he was, so to think that the entire world would come to know and recognize his presence is incredible!
CNN commended the young Ghanaian’s talent in creating enthralling music, while Black Sherif stated that his music is merely an extension of his feelings.
“I make music when I’m sad, and I make music when I’m happy…” Blacko stated.
