A Ghanaian Police officer, Inspector Eric Ohene Asiedu has been pronounced dead after slipping into a gutter in front of his home in Kumasi.
According to reports, The Officer, who is a service driver with the District Police Command at the Kumasi-based Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), fell out of night duty on Tuesday.
He slipped and fell into the sewer as he crossed the street to his home. He was transported to the Global Mission Hospital in Apromase, but the Medical Officer in charge, Dr. Theophilus Budu Arthur, pronounced him dead upon arrival.
The corpse has been sent to the morgue at Aniniwaa Hospital where an autopsy will be performed as soon as possible.
