“It is very stup!d to think juju plays football”- Kwabena Yeboah
Kwabena Yeboah, a Ghanaian experienced sports journalist, writer, and pundit, has weighed in on the juju allegations that rocked the Black Stars camp at the recent Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon.
Following the Black Stars’ elimination from the group rounds of the competition, some of the players claimed that some of their mallams were brought to the camp to help them prepare for matches.
Despite the lack of evidence, some players vowed to abandon the national team out of concern of sustaining injuries that would impair their career progression.
In light of this, Kwabena Yeboah, the host of GTV’s sports chat shows, weekly sports evaluations, and live commentary, has stated that “it is very silly and senseless for someone to believe juju plays football.”
He believes that the modern game of football has progressed beyond the ancient practice of utilizing juju to influence the outcome of a match.
