“I was the first person to buy Rolls Royce in Ghana, Despite and his brothers copied me”- Kennedy Agyapong
Hon. Kennedy Agyapong boasted of convincing renowned Ghanaian businessmen Osei Kwame Despite and Ernest Ofori Sarpong to purchase their first Rolls Royce.
The outspoken politician said in a popular video how the two millionaires decided to buy and flaunt expensive vehicles after seeing him do so in the country.
According to Kennedy Agyapong, Dr. Osei Kwame Despite and his brother Dr. Ofori Sarpong were concerned about being punished by Ghana’s ruling government for driving costly cars at the time.
They avoided driving expensive cars in order to avoid extortionate taxes and intrusive inquiries until they watched Kennedy Agyapong do it.
Kennedy Agyapomg stated that they changed their minds after he purchased his first Rolls Royce and bravely drove it on the streets without fear of the law.
“I remember when I bought my Rolls Royce, Despite came to me and spoke about how he’s scared to drive a good car. He said that because of the way I’ve challenged the NDC government, he is also going to buy one.”
He made this revelation in a speech he made during Despite’s 60th birthday party.
Kennedy Agyapong was also heard saying he paved the way for Despite and his brother to start buying expensive cars that have been left behind in the race as the millionaires now own a garage full of exotic vehicles.
I was there one day when I saw that he has bought this car, Ernest too bought another car. If not for the party we are having, this place would be full of cars. I told myself, eii Despite I started before you but you’ve overtaken me.
