Enoch Darko, one of Ghana’s most talented actors, has shared a heartbreaking story about his acting career. In an interview with Peace FM, the rising star, who is one of the current poster boys of Ghana’s film industry, revealed that he was once poisoned on set. According to Enoch Darko of Talented Kids, he was very young and had only recently entered the film industry when the unfortunate incident occurred.
He explained that he was chosen for a role that was later canceled by a more experienced actor because the amount paid to him was too low.
Because he was naive and desperate for the role, Enoch Darko agreed to play it for a lower pay, only to be poisoned twice on set by his co-actors. He stated that he was unable to continue shooting and had to be rushed home for treatment.
“That time I think a particular actor wanted to suspend his role so he could be paid more for it, but when I came I decided to take lower pay, so when I shot about one or two ( scenes), I suddenly felt sick and had to be taken home. The one who led me there later discovered that I was poisoned”, he said in Twi.
Enoch Darko, who is currently based in Nigeria, is quickly establishing himself as one of the country’s bedding movie stars. Following in the footsteps of John Dumelo, Van Vickar, and Majid Michael, Enoch Darko is flying the Ghanaian flag high by landing lead roles in some good Nigerian films.
