I Have Forgiven You For Not Winning The AFCON But Return All The Money- Military President of Guinea tells National Team

Military President of Guinea, Colonel Mamady Doumbouya met with the Guinea football team prior to the African Cup of Nations.

When he met them, he told them that they should go win the tournament. He instructed the team to either win the tournament or refund the money spent on them.

The team performed admirably in the tournament, but they were eliminated in the Round of 16 by the Gambia. The Gambia defeated them in the Round of 16 by a goal to nil.

Mamady Doumbouya met with the Guinea Football Team following their elimination from the competition. Surprisingly, the Military President of Guinea lauded their performance in the competition.

He told them he was sorry they didn’t win the trophy. He stated that while he wanted them to win the trophy, he understands that it will take time because they are still building the team.

He did, however, tell them that the money given to the team was for the Quarter Finals, Semi-Finals, and Grand Finale and that he expected them to return it to the country’s coffers as soon as possible.
