“I have been living with HIV since 1992, you can’t tell I’m positive just by looking at me”- lady advises.
When it comes to HIV and AIDS, people nowadays find it simple to open out about their situation on social media. Back in the day, the majority couldn’t even admit or talk publicly.
Doreen Moraa, a woman, became an inspiration on the social media after admitting that she had been HIV positive for quite some time. She only realized she needed her ARVs more than anything else after taking a two-year break from taking them. She revealed that getting unwell was never in the plan. Instead, she thought she was intelligent and was doing what would keep her out of people’s sight.
“I shot myself in the leg,” she admitted on the LinkedIn app’s comment section. My situation worsened after I stopped treatment, so I had to return, and today I choose to be fabulous despite my health issues. I chose to be more powerful than HIV. Doreen was diagnosed with the disease in 1992 and began taking medication in 2005, when she was still a young girl. Her viral load is now manageable, she claims, thanks to the combination of ARVs Tenofovir, Lamivudine, and Doluteglavir.
Nobody is immune to HIV, but if you have it, there is life beyond diagnosis, she says. Please remain HIV-negative if you are HIV-negative. Stop assessing people with your own eyes, she added, since people are sick and will never say anything to you.
No matter what you do out there, practice protection; it is simple to associate with someone who is positive without revealing their status to you. One thing to keep in mind is that after you’ve convinced yourself that you’ll find your loved one day, he or she will be nowhere to be found..
