“I and my family had to pick food from Borla to eat”- Kisa Gbekle narrates how poor she was (video)

In a recent interview, Ghanaian actress and presenter Kisa Gbekle said that life was a living nightmare for her and her family when she was growing up in Aflao, Volta Region, thirty years ago.

Kisa said that her mother and father split when she was nine months old, leaving her mother to raise her and her three brothers on her alone.

She went on to say that there were instances when she had to trek miles to a mother’s sibling only to acquire cornflour so they could cook and eat.

Kisa Gbekle also claimed that there were occasions when they had to go to the garbage dump to collect some veggies like tomatoes and pepper, or sit by the seashore and beg for only a single fish to feed themselves.
