Serwaa Amihere is interested in learning how personnel of the National Service Scheme in the country make ends meet on a monthly allowance of GH599 (about $1,200).

The Ghanaian broadcaster, which frequently expresses concern about the growing hardship and high cost of living in Accra, has once again taken to social media to express concern about the meager salary of its employees.

She was perplexed as to how recent graduates could afford to pay for housing, bills, transportation, and food on such a meager salary, which she considered to be a joke.

She asked on Twitter, “National service personnel, how do you manage the GHC 559 allowance?” she wrote.
