Hajia Bintu Faces Backlash for Selling Love Charms on Social Media: Apologizes for Harmful Influence
Hajia Bintu has swallowed humble pie after hours of social media anger for her choice to sell love potions.
Since yesterday night, a video of the Ghanaian socialite hawking love spell items like ‘fuck n stay,’ ‘love & pay,’ and ‘attraction to Richman has gone viral. Hajia Bintu’s actions were criticized by netizens, who described her as a harmful influence on the young.
In response to the video, actor Prince David Osei stated: “Why should anyone in the right senses promote the sale of charms and voodoo to hypnotize people, on social media, come on now!!“
“No wonder most young ladies now shy away from hard work but prefer doing hookups and getting paid! Sad generation,” he concluded.
Despite Media journalist, Afia Pokua, also commented, “Dear Min of Information & Communication, please, I know our constitution guarantees Freedom of Expression but where it is used to encourage girls to use “Fuck &Stay” and “Attraction to Rich Men” instead of encouraging girls to work hard and create their wealth like our Okaishie and Makola women does it not become dangerous to the nation?
Hajia Bintu has apologized in response to these and other replies. In a post on her Snapchat account, she said: “I want to take this opportunity to apologize to all. I promote products for various brands and this time my management team and I, were negligent in accessing the effects of marketing products that a vendor brought to us.
She ended in the snapshot of the post below “I have no intentions to attract such “out of line” effects on the General Public, myself, and my brand. I am sincerely sorry for this act“
