In a recent development, a senior-year student from Adisadel College, who was captured in a viral video assaulting his colleague, has been granted bail in the sum of GHc10,000 by the District Court in Cape Coast. This decision was made on Friday, July 28, following the provisional charges of causing harm and assault, as reported by Starr FM.

The student, who was arrested earlier this week by the Police in Cape Coast, will now be required to appear before the Juvenile Court on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. The magistrate, Eric Oheneba Antwi Bosiako, who granted the bail, emphasized the importance of addressing the case through the appropriate legal channels.

Presenting the case, Chief Inspector Bediako, a police prosecutor, was accompanied by Attorney Josephine Deborah Awah from the Office. Together, they laid out the evidence against the student, highlighting the disturbing incident captured in the viral video. The assault, which took place in a dormitory, depicted one student violently attacking another.

Education authorities have wasted no time in taking swift action to address the incident and hold the perpetrator accountable for his actions. It is crucial to ensure that such acts of violence are not tolerated within educational institutions and that students feel safe and protected.

In a related development, the victim of the assault has been recalled to the school after initially being suspended. The school administration is putting measures in place to ensure his well-being and recovery. It is vital that the victim receives the necessary support and care to overcome the traumatic experience.
