According to the report, a female teacher was apprehended for boiling the hand of a nine-year-old student for allegedly stealing Gh 2.
According to the mother, the child was staying with the teacher who accused her of stealing Gh 2. According to the mother, she went to the farm to harvest some crops when she received a phone call informing her of what had happened to her child.
According to her, she went to the hospital where the child was admitted and discovered that the incident described was true.
She explains that when she arrived at the hospital and met the child, she cried and asked what caused the burns on her hands.
The child initially told her mother that she was fetching water when she fell, resulting in burns on her hands. She confronted the child once more, this time informing the mother of the cause of the burn.
The teacher on the side confirmed that she was responsible for the burn on the child’s hand. The nine-year-old was photographed with her hand boiled and unable to perform its function. The incident occurred in Goaso, Ahafo Region.
According to the report, the female teacher was arrested and is now being held in police custody to assist the police in their investigation.
It is heartbreaking to hear such news in our Ghanaian society. Though it is possible that the child stole the aforementioned sum of money, could this be a possible way to punish her?
