Elizabeth Sennett Obituary

Elizabeth (‘Liz’) Dorlene Thorne Sennett was born on December 10, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio. However, her life was cut short on March 18, 1988, at the age of 45, in Sheffield, Alabama. She was laid to rest in the nearby Red Bay.

During her time on Earth, Elizabeth was married to Charles Sennett Sr., a devoted pastor, and together they had two sons, Charles Sennett Jr. and Mike Sennett. Charles Jr., also known as Chuck, shared with 1819 News that his mother was a quintessential ‘all-American housewife’.

At the time of her passing, Chuck was just 25 years old, and he fondly remembers his mother as not only a homemaker and housewife but also as a confidant, best friend, and a guiding light. Although she never held a full-time job, Elizabeth’s role as a mother and preacher’s wife instilled in her sons strong values and a sense of right and wrong. She was a wise and nurturing woman who lovingly guided her children along the right path.

Elizabeth Sennett Obituary, Cause of Death: What Happened to Elizabeth Sennett?

Elizabeth Sennett was tragically murdered on March 18, 1988 at the age of 45. According to prosecutors, Charles Sennett Sr., who was burdened by significant debt, allegedly paid Williams and his accomplice, John Forrest Parker, $1,000 each to carry out this heinous act in order to collect the insurance payout.

Williams then sought the assistance of Kenneth Smith and John Forrest Parker to help execute the murder. Charles Sr. had already been under suspicion for his wife’s murder, and law enforcement initially noted his peculiar behavior upon discovering that his wife still had a pulse at the crime scene.

Sadly, she was later pronounced dead at the hospital. It is worth mentioning that Billy Gray Williams hired Kenneth Eugene Smith and John Forrest Parker to assist him in the murder of Elizabeth Sennett. On January 25, 2024, the State of Alabama executed Kenneth Eugene Smith using nitrogen hypoxia, marking the first time this method was employed for capital punishment worldwide.
