Ghanaian actor Kwadwo Nkansah, better known as LilWin, has reiterated his intention to compete as an independent candidate for the Afigya Kwabre South parliamentary seat.
Despite his admitted trouble with the English language, he feels that common sense and the capacity to connect with constituents are more important than linguistic skills.
In an interview with social media blogger Nkonkonsa, he emphasized his willingness to engage with his constituents in Twi and have it translated as needed.
He underlined that the importance of his thoughts and contributions to the community exceeds any language obstacles.
“I am always willing to help my constituents’ youth find work… Nobody is lazy, but because there are no jobs, the youth have become lazy,” LilWin explained.
“Very soon, Afigya Kwabre independent MPs, wealthy individuals, and business leaders came forward to support my bid.” We are prepared, and my campaign manager is Kwame Nkrumah Tikesee of Okay FM, so please contact him if you have any questions,” he continued.
When asked if he was confident in securing the parliamentary seat, Lilwin maintained his optimism. He said positively, “Yes, I will succeed.” We get support from places where there is no hope.”
Concerned about his English ability, he drew a contrast with China’s president, emphasizing that effective communication transcends linguistic borders.
“Pardon me, but common sense is bigger than English.” We speak English with common sense, therefore, if I don’t understand it, I’ll speak Twi and have it translated, just like the Chinese, especially their president.”
