Central region: Police gun down and k!ll armed robber after a failed robbery
Around three to four o’clock in the morning on September 23, two (2) armed gunmen stormed the Nyankomasi Ahenkro in the Assin South area of the Central Region.
The burglars loaded 38 goats and lambs into a Toyota Corolla taxi cab and a Toyota highlander private automobile, respectively, with registration numbers CR 1097-18 and GS 2098-19.
Unfortunately, the criminals clashed with the Nyankomasi Ahenkro police command as they were ready to flee with the stolen goats and lambs, but they proceeded to start the automobile and go at high speed.
The Nyankomasi Ahenkro police command pursued the criminals, and due to their speed, the police were obliged to fire a gun to try to slow down and halt the car, but the robbers instead exchanged rounds after the police fired at them.
The criminals continued to fire gunshots at the police, and luckily, the police were able to shoot the armed robber driving the Toyota Corolla in the hand.
After the police shot his hand, the driver of the Toyota Corolla lost all control and crashed into a rock at Abura Kwaduogya in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese of the Central Region.
After slamming into the rock, the driver, who was an armed robber, perished instantly.
Following the death of the driver of the Toyota Corolla, the police pursued the Toyota Highlander.
Fortunately for the police, their gunfire deflated the tire, allowing them to apprehend the armed robber.
The armed robber in the Toyota Highlander was apprehended by the Nyankomasi Ahenkro police command, while the robber who died after colliding with a rock was sent to the government hospital in Abura Dunkwa.
