Cynthia Appiadu, the renowned leader of the iconic Gospel music group, Daughters of Glorious Jesus, showcased the true essence of the saying, “What a man can do, a woman can do even better,” through her extraordinary drumming abilities during the ‘Pat Thomas Highlife night’ concert held at the Accra International Conference Centre [AICC] on Friday, August 4, 2023.
This event, dedicated to celebrating the Ghanaian highlife legend Pat Thomas, presented captivating performances from some of Ghana’s biggest music stars, including Kwabena Kwabena, Naa Agyemang, Okyeame Kwame, KK Fosu, Mark Anyim Yirenkyi, and Daughters of Glorious Jesus.
However, it was Cynthia who truly stole the show with her mesmerizing drumming skills. Widely recognized for her powerful vocals, Cynthia surprised the audience when she took center stage as a drummer, delivering a flawless and awe-inspiring performance.
Her drumming was so enchanting that it left even President Akufo-Addo speechless. Notable dignitaries, such as former President John Agyekum Kufuor, Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings, Alan Kyeremanten, and Deputy Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts Minister Mark Okraku-Mantey, were equally captivated by her exceptional talent.
Following the concert, attendees who were interviewed by Ghanaweekend expressed their admiration for Cynthia’s drumming skills, labeling her as one of the finest drummers in Ghana.
