“A Pentecost elder tried to rape me” – Female journalist shares her experience
Nana Ama Fosua Erskine, an aspiring broadcast journalist, has revealed that a Pentecost elder, who also happens to be her uncle, attempted to have sex with her while she lived with him and his family.
In an interview with DJ Nyaami on SVTV Africa, Nana Ama claimed that she traveled to Accra for education in 2017. Her mother, she alleges, was in contact with a distant relative who encouraged her to stay with them.
“He told me to come to stay with him at 1st intersection when my mother called. However, after I moved in with him, it became a major issue. He used to whine when I turned on the lights to study.”
“At one point, my uncle expressed an interest in sleeping with me. I don’t want to discuss anything with him because he is a Pentecostal elder. “
”I told my mother, and she became enraged, but I advised her to calm down since I didn’t have anywhere else to go,” she told DJ Nyaami.
Nana Ama had a traumatic incident at her uncle’s house. According to her, she had to leave in order to find refuge in a mission house.
“If I wanted to learn, I went to a local Pentecostal church.” The gates would be locked whenever I returned after evening lessons,” she revealed.
Nana Ama earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the Ghana Institute of Journalism in 2019.
