Felix Bremata, a 22-year-old Cocoa Pollination employee who currently resides in Assin Dompim in the Assin Fosu Municipality but originally hails from Sienchem in the Assin North District, was discovered dead in River Onwa in Assin Dompim this morning.
Further examination of the deceased revealed a cut on his skull and blood seeping from his eyes.
His coworkers claim he hasn’t reported to work in three days, and they were surprised to find his lifeless body in a river.
Meanwhile, Mr Akwasi Nyarkoh, Chairman of the Dompim Committee, revealed that Bremata arrived in the village in January to work with COCOBOD.
Mr. Akwasi Nyarkoh believes the deceased was caught in his net, which he used to capture fish in the same river.
Eyewitnesses and other staff also expressed regret over the terrible situation, which occurred last Friday and ended with the deceased’s lifeless body being discovered in the river.
Bremata had established himself in the town and even created a rice field along the river.
The body has been transported to St. Francis Xavier Hospital for preservation, according to Assin Fosu Divisional Police Command’s Divisional Crime Officer, DSP Daniel Kwabena Darkoh, and investigations are underway.
