Mohammed Kaaka’s 12-year-old daughter could not hold back her emotions as she proudly proclaimed in the Qur’an that her father was murdered without provocation. She cried as she drew some more details in tears.

A Joynews journalist visited their home to learn more about how the family was dealing with the devastating news. Three ladies carrying Qurans walked out of the room sobbing before he could roll out his camera lens.

The 12-year-old girl reappeared a few minutes later, clutching a Qur’an. A journalist approached her and asked her for an interview:

“My father is completely blameless. He is innocent. I swear by the Qur’an. He was not a bad guy. When I returned home from school, my mother informed me that my father had been severely beaten. I started weeping after dropping my school bag. “I had not expected him to die,” she admitted as she cried.
