Young Man who had only 4 months to be released from prison escapes, rearrested and given 40 years in prison

A man in Mississippi, USA, has been handed an additional forty (40) years in prison after escaping from jail just four months before his release date.

The inmate, identified as 21-year-old Shunekndrick Huffman, broke out of prison in 2022 but was later apprehended again.

Reports from the Daily Mail reveal that Huffman made the daring escape just as he was about to complete a previous seven-year sentence.

However, instead of making a fresh start, he chose to engage in criminal activities once more. After breaking into a nearby home, Huffman held three individuals hostage at gunpoint for several hours.

In a desperate attempt to evade capture, he stole a car from one of the hostages but ended up crashing it during his getaway. The police eventually found Huffman hiding in a trash can and promptly re-arrested him.

Huffman has since pleaded guilty to two counts of kidnapping and is now serving a 40-year prison term for his actions.

The shocking incident has garnered attention on social media, with many users expressing their confusion over Huffman’s decision to flee when he was so close to being released.
