A man named Mupelesi Siame, who lived in Mukoma Extension in Nakonde District tragically took his own life at the age of 32. He hanged himself from an Alvacado tree at his father’s house using an electric cable. This happened around 8:00 pm on Tuesday.
The reason behind this tragic event was that Mupelesi’s father denied him the chance to marry his beautiful fiance. His father thought that she was too beautiful for him and refused to let them get married.
The family was inside the house when they were alerted about the suicide. The police were called to the scene, and they inspected the body. They found a cable around his neck with a protruding tongue and a broken thyroid
The police suspect no foul play in this case. They believe that Mupelesi took his own life because he was heartbroken over his father’s decision.
Mupelesi’s relatives have vowed to take revenge on his father by beating him up during his burial. This is a sad and unfortunate situation that could have been avoided if Mupelesi’s father had been more understanding and supportive of his son’s wishes.
