On Tuesday afternoon, a church building in Accra collapsed while people were worshiping inside. The church is called Word In Action and it happened on May 9, 2023.
Right now, there are people trapped under the debris of the church. Firefighters are trying to rescue them while hundreds of onlookers watch from outside the gate.
It’s common in Ghana for people to rush to the scene of a disaster. Unfortunately, many people go there just to gossip and not to help. This is not helpful and can even be dangerous for the people who are trying to rescue those trapped.
