After suspecting her husband of infidelity, a young mother of three set fire to her house, killing herself and her two children in Kenya.
Hellen Vuyanzi, 35, accused her husband, Thomas Amito, of cheating on her with another woman earlier in the day of the incident, resulting in a furious misunderstanding.
On 1st January 2022, The mother of three consciously burned herself and her two children, ages four and two, to death with petrol she purchased from a nearby filling station.
According to reports, Hellen originally planned to kill all three of her children, but her oldest son, who was eleven at the time, escaped the tragic tragedy by jumping out of a window.
Bernard Ngungu, the Lugari Sub-County Police Commander, confirmed: “We had previously counseled Vuyanzi and her husband, Thomas Amito, following the occurrence of a domestic disagreement between them.”
“According to what we’ve been told, Hellen accused Thomas of cheating on her with another lady. The two had occasional disagreements, with the wife accusing her husband of cheating. We were not expecting it to end tragically like this.”
Hellen’s husband, who was not home at the time of the unfortunate tragedy, is devastated by the news.
The situation has been referred to the police, and the bodies have been put at the Webuye County Hospital mortuary.
