Wives worried as New videos from all-female staff barbershop Stirs Online
Men used to be the only ones who could run a barbershop. It was an unwritten rule; nobody had carved it in stone; it was simply the way things were.
Barbershops were private spaces for men. We didn’t just go there to get cool haircuts; we also went there to talk about life, politics, football, and our wives’ cooking.
Barbershops now have a whole new aura, air, and ambiance, and as times change, so does the gender that has traditionally not only owned but also worked in these hair shops.
Young women in Kenya are increasingly taking on barbershop duties, and some have even gone so far as to open their own barbershops with an all-female staff.
Mwende Frey, a 27-year-old single mother, has set the internet on fire with her burgeoning barbershop, which has used a variety of unconventional methods to sell her product and attract customers.
Men who come to Mwende Kinyozi barbershop for a shave leave if they are still interested in spending more time inside.
They are pampered and treated to female flashes of scantily dressed young girls dancing in front of them as they enjoy their cool shave and other things.
Check out some of their videos below.
