Wife of Asantehene pays the hospital bills of 26 women and gave them cash and hampers.
Lady Julia Osei Tutu, the wife of the Asantehene and patroness of the Otumfuo Osei Tutu Foundation, contributed to the medical expenses of 26 people.
The donation of GHC30,000 commemorated the International Day of Families.
Asantehene’s social development mission is led through the Otumfuo Osei Tutu Foundation. The Foundation is divided into five themes. Health, education, water, sanitation, entrepreneurship, culture, and heritage.
The Foundation’s efforts to give hope to the poor and needy are in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, which aim to enhance people’s lives and well-being.
Some patients at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital are encountering financial difficulties. The Otumfuo Osei Tutu Foundation paid a visit to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital to settle debts owed by mothers who had given birth or had surgery but were unable to pay.
The Foundation released 26 patients who had been hospitalized due to financial constraints, with a total debt of 30,000 Ghana Cedis.
GHC700 and Hampers were also distributed. Lady Julia and the Otumfuo Osei Tutu Foundation were praised for the gift by Dr. Oheneba Owusu-Danso.
The executive director of the Otumfuo Osei Tutu Foundation, Nana Afua Kobi Serwaa Prempeh, justified the decision to assist breastfeeding mothers.
“We are overjoyed; this is such a relief,” one benefit nursing mother said.
