In a recent interview on social media, Rose Mensa, also known as Kyeiwaa (Akua Atta), shared the reasons why she left Ghana for eight years and only recently returned.
She stated that the movie producers in Ghana were unfair to her after she became famous and achieved a level of popularity.
” After I made the Kyeiwaa Movie, I became very popular, and the movie was sold all over the country. However, I never received more than Gh ¢ 1,000.00 for acting in movies in Ghana. When concerns were being made to increase my pay, producers stop using me for movies and I was left without doing anything. Some of them even rumored that I charge Gh ¢ 5,000.00 for movies which are never true.
I left the Country and never returned after 8 years. It is good to travel Outside. I admonished all those who want to travel outside should learn how to speak English because it is not going to be easy over there”. She said.
Rose Mensa expressed her gratitude towards all the producers who helped her achieve fame, and she acknowledged their contribution to her success.
” I am now back in the country and working on my acting. New projects are underway. However, I don’t know when I will be going back to the United States of America”. – She added.
