The couple pleaded guilty to charges including murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy to commit murder at the Tazewell County courthouse near Peoria, Illinois. The incident took place on October 22, 2021, when authorities responded to a shots fired call at the Bolin residence.

Rebecca and Douglas Bolin were found shot, with Rebecca pronounced dead at the scene, while Douglas survived after being shot five times. Initially, Dahlia Bolin claimed an unknown assailant attacked her parents, but her story unraveled during questioning.

Twisted Scheme and Betrayal

Dahlia Bolin eventually confessed to orchestrating the murder plot with Maloney, Raeuber, and Street. The group planned to kill Douglas Bolin and stage a robbery gone wrong, making it appear as if Dahlia was the victim of a botched crime. The twisted plan involved group text messages and FaceTime chats.

Prosecutors revealed that Dahlia Bolin promised her accomplices $100,000 from her parent’s life insurance policy as payment for carrying out the heinous act. The motive behind the plot was attributed to the strained relationship between Dahlia and her father.

Devastating Outcome and Sentencing

Contrary to the plan, Maloney and Street deviated, injuring Douglas Bolin and killing Rebecca Bolin before fleeing the scene. Raeuber served as the getaway driver. The quartet was apprehended the next day.

At the sentencing hearing, Maloney received a 66-year prison term, Dahlia Bolin was sentenced to 60 years, and Street, who was a juvenile at the time, received a 55-year sentence. Raeuber, the getaway driver, was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
