Wendy Shay to vote against NPP in 2024 for banning musicians from Alcohol and Betting adverts
Wendy Shay, a musician, has resurrected her campaign against the prohibition on musicians and other celebrities advertising alcoholic beverages and betting.
For many years, musicians in Ghana have been prohibited from endorsing or advertising alcoholic beverages or sports betting.
The ban has had a negative impact on the stars, as some of them have lost revenue from such endorsement deals.
Wendy Shay has sworn to vote for the political party that will lift the ban as long as they continue to suffer as a result of it.
Wendy Shay’s pledge excludes the NPP from the list of parties she intends to vote for in 2024 because they are the party that imposed the ban.
According to Wendy Shay, musicians are not supposed to die poor, but in Ghana, musicians are more likely to die poor due to policies such as prohibiting alcohol and betting companies from sponsoring musical concerts.
“Musicians are not supposed to be poor
But in this country if God does not step in you’ll die poor
Now we can’t even get Alcohol and Betting companies to sponsor our shows
2024 my vote will be for any party that will lift that Ban! “
