Watch video of a 29-year-old man who is still a baby as he can’t grow due to a rare medical condition emerges
An emotive video of a 29-year-old man who is still a baby because he can’t grow due to a rare ailment that has stunted his growth has gone viral on the internet.
Pingping is the name of the ‘baby man,’ and he suffers from Progeria, also known as Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome (HGPS)
According to Google, the unofficial name for Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome (HGPS) or progeria is Benjamin Button syndrome.
The rare genetic illness affects one in every four million kids and causes them to age rapidly because their cells consume a protein called progerin, which is released by a genetic defect.
Children with progeria appear healthy at birth, but begin to show signs of fast aging within the first two years of life. Most die by the age of 13 or 14, but some live into their early twenties.
The most common cause of mortality is heart disease, which can also be caused by stroke.
A viral social media video shows Pingping being treated like a toddler, despite the fact that he is old enough to have his own family.
