It was not any different in the case of COP (Retired) Nathan Kofi Boakye, the former Director of Legal and Prosecution for the Ghana Police Service, as he was never spared when it was his turn.
The skilled lawyer and his buddies headed to their Sports Complex for their customary weekend workout after the elaborate show on his birthday, which commemorated his over 30 years in the Ghana Police Service.
Following that, the bold and brave former police officer was forced to lie on the ground and doused with buckets of water in honor of his new age as an active member of the East Legon Executive Fitness Club.
It is acknowledged that COP Nathan Kofi Boakye, also known as Commander One, made a substantial contribution to the nation’s fight against crime.
His arrest of infamous armed robber Ataa Ayi and several of his gang members in 2005 earned him national attention and cemented his reputation as a household figure in Ghana.
He established a dynamic strategy for criminal apprehending during his time as the police chief in the Ashanti Region, which made many robbers fearful.
Several wanted offenders in Kumasi and the neighboring regions were captured under his direction. Moreover, Commander One was infamous for his outspoken views and contentious detentions of celebrities, notably singers Kwaw Kese and Shatta Wale.
