A Madina Trotro mate and a passenger put their strength to the test as they got into a fistfight over the rise in transportation fees.
Recently, an increase in transportation rates was announced, which irritated commuters who couldn’t keep up with the steady increase in transportation fares.
This has frequently resulted in conflict between trotro mates and passengers, but one such conflict on a Madina-Lapaz trotro resulted in a severe fight between the mate and a passenger.
A video of the two people fighting near the route from N1 to Lapaz has appeared on the internet.
The mate apparently demanded 11 cedis as the haulage fee from Madina to Lapaz, but the passenger insisted that the standard rate was 7 cedis, 50 pesewas.
The heated fight forced the two to put their physical might to the test as they approached Lapaz.
The Trotro driver and the other passengers left them to fight as they observed and photographed the event.
